No deep thoughts for today. Just happy I got to see this place. And see it with her. For the first time. Happy we got to be kids running around our playground of making photos and videos. Happy to dance and drum at the temples, cos that is what they were meant for. Happy to share these moments with folks that follow us. Hoping that these things we make serve as inspiration for other travelers, of the literal and metaphorical kind.
In this episode we talked about balancing being a mother with pursuing a career in the arts, about getting inspiration from travel, about the role of graduate school for an artist, and setting up conditions where you just have to do the work.
Thoughts on my experience of doing a diary entry every day for a year.
Today's guest is Wendy Zhou and we talked about a very interesting instrument called the pipa, traditional Chinese music and Wendy's experience bringing Chinese music to the West and the bridging between traditions. We also talked about the healing power of music and her journey as an artist.
